the other person is me

Advice of the day:

Never do a 6 - W A Y phone conversation. It's pure chaos.

Howdy (thanks, colonel)! Well, readers (I do believe that the number of readers is slowly decreasing, due to the number of comments on my most recent posts), my apologies for not posting much lately. I have been quite busy with jail and my duties that must be accomplished in order for me to make bai--graduate. I've also been working with the school play, which I'm ecstatic about. A select few of us have been doing practically everything, always running errands for Miss G or Dustin (the head techie..guy), getting costumes, and everything else you can think of. The other ones basically clean out the prop room and sit around and wait to be asked to do stuff, while we ask if there is anything that needs to be done, and we make ourselves available. It's jolly good fun! You certainly have to "keep your cool" in drama, because there are some unexpected things that do sometimes happen, and some people don't always use the best language (I'm assuming it will get worse as the dates of the show grow closer), but I can cope. It actually is humoring, and I am enjoying it muchly.
Spamber came up for a visit last weekend, surprising us all (well, except for me, since it was sorta my idea) during Wednesday Youth Service, and everyone went crazy. There's a lot of stuff a bunch of us did. We went out to Sammy's the day she came (her first meal here), and the day she left (her last meal here, well, it was supposed to be, but then things changed). We watched tennis a few times, went and got licked by some
dogs (don't ask), and cheered GRIME-BOMB a few times. It was a great weekend, Amber, and I can't wait to see you at MYC! I miss you! I love you!
The band is coming along great. We're practicing for the winter benefit, which I hope you will all attend. It'll be, like, our first concert. The pops concert doesn't really count. We figured out an introduction of ourselves, and it's pretty sweet.

Alright, to the nerd side of me. I have been watching Lost's new season, and it is very suspenseful, leaving me at the edge of my seat (actually, I fell off) throughout the entire episode. That is pretty much one of the only things I get excited about these days, since I'm not really in a sport. OK, I lied, I get excited about everything. Pretty much. Also, in English during a test, I heard some people talking (yes, we talk during tests, everyone does, including the teacher) and I could've sworn that I heard someone say Star Wars and Lord of the Rings in the same sentance, so I shot up and said, "I think I just heard Star Wars and Lord of the Rings in the same sentance!!" and the whole class starting saying, "Wow, what a nerd, that's pathetic" etc. etc., except for Gemini, who said something like, "Hey, you hear that all the time when you come to my house!" Gemini, you rock.

I hope you're all having a great week.
Brittany, get well soon.
Jason, good luck tomorrow in football.
Brittany, get well soon.
Pope, good luck being a "pope."
Brittany, get well soon.

Pervets, go away.
Amber, come back.
Bobbie Jo, fix Tompkins soon.
Jac, I love you.
Brittany, GET WELL SOON.

NTLAPD

The anagram which is the title of this post, stands for National Talk Like A Pirate Day. So, Happy National Talk like a Jack Sparrow Day! Arr, pirate day! And no, I am not going to do this post in pirate speak. Maybe a little.

School has been going fine, Algebra is really annoying and confusing, not to mention pointless. Why do I need to know how fast one train is going compared to another when all I'm going to be doing every day is asking people "Do you want fries with that?" (Or, today, "But why is the rum gone?") I think not. Today was the opening day of Homecoming week, one of two great weeks out of the whole year. The days aren't that great this year, today was scrub day (a grand day), tomorrow is brainiac day, followed by fake an injury day, dress your best, and finally, school spirit. The days I'm not dressing up for are brainiac day and fake an injury day, because that's just stupid. I was thinking of wearing one of those arrows on my head that gives the illusion as if it is through your head, but I don't have one, who does? I can't think of anything clever for brainiac day or fake an injury day, I'm simply not clever enough. Ooh, how about a wooden leg and an eye patch?! Anywho, today was also the assembly (it wasn't shattered, sadly) to introduce the Homecoming candidates, and I got it through my head that our school likes clapping a lot. When waiting for these things to start, someone starts doing the slow movie clap, and it gradually gets faster. Today, whenever Mr. Riach would say something such as, "We're doing great at keeping the school clean, keep it up! Remember, no food or drink in the auditorium" we would all give him a round of applause, and I found it quite humorous. I learned a new game today, but I cheated on accident, so it wasn't as fun for the other people and myself. Oh well. I also got the back braces on today, and got my wires changed. I wanted to have the silver rubber bands once again, but I believe I promised someone I would get blue & white. Well, sorry, person, but I just got blue. My teeth will be the white. Err, off-white. You get the picture. Arr!

As I was reading my Bible the other day, I came across a verse that caught my attention, more than the others.

Proverbs 3:25-6

"Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared."

This passage reminded me of the recent hurricane and how it was handled. It should've been handled calmly, but I'm assuming that everything can't be handled calmly when your city is drowning, and obviously, people would be in a panic. They should've been confident that God would see them all through and that everything would be OK. We can continue to pray for them, their families, and their plan for the future. Hopefully this disaster changed people's hearts and they now look at life a different way because of it. Good luck, mayteys!

best sister in the world, i have

Apologies for my last post, I was in a weird mood that day, and I've been in that same weird mood for the past few days, and it isn't exactly a mood to be proud of. I'm more snappy and more depressed, and I say things without thinking and appear like a total jerk. I should read my Bible more, and pray. Yeah, that's an excellent plan.

As a youngin, I had this stage (which lasted for most of, well, all of my childhood years) where whatever my sister liked, I would too. This consisted of a certain boy band, book series, and television show (to prevent embarrassment to both my sister and myself, neither of us like any of these things today, and haven't for many years). She claimed I was copying her, which I was (you see, she was so cool and mature compared to myself, I wanted to be just like her, so liking the same things she did somehow made me think this would make me similar to her), even though I denied it every time, which didn't make her happy. Today, my sister influences me in great ways. She is very clean and organized, she knows how to make a decent meal, she has a great passion for the LORD, and that inspires me to be just like her. Sure, she may have introduced me to some awesome singers and pretty sweet films, but I don't enjoy them because she does, I do because I enjoy them. I'm so happy that I have a great sister who will help me up when I'm down, forgive me when I continuously make mistakes, and help me right my wrongs. Jac, you're the best sister in the world and I love you like the day is long. You rock. Thank you for introducing me to such unique things. I'm not copying you, believe me!

run-on post

I think that for this post, I will make it one long paragraph, using only spaces and commas, please don't leave in the middle of the post, just imagine the proper punctuation in place. And remember, I am doing this for my own entertainment and, of course, to annoy my fellow readers! Let the run-on begin!

On Saturday I went to Chelsea's for a POA meeting which stands for Puppets Of America and all the POA Members who attended this "meeting" were Jason, Andrew, Kari, Sydney, Britt, Natalie, Jenn, Jess, Chelsea (of course), and myself and Rachel was there too and she kept running in the room trying to join in on our little meeting (I personally think it's because she likes Jason, but that's my opinon) but we kept pushing her out and we had to practice this scene over and over with the puppets and the kids on the tape said "bummer deal man", so if you ever hear me say that it just means "oh crap" because I feel slightly embarassed when I accidently blurt that phrase out in my Spanish class and get a few looks from the people around me including Senor Franklin, anyway back to the POA meeting, Jess, Britt, and Syd left and then we were all being really weird and doing stuff like hiding Jason's shoes then saying movie lines and choking other POA members and saying that if they didn't get up Jason would do CPR ( and then they would get up, HA) on them and after the meeting we played the longest game of the addams family ever where Rachel was running around her yard and we were all going after her, except for me who was lying on the porch laughing hysterically, but then I got ahold of myself and ran around with them, on Sunday I did the puppets and it's not as easy as doing skits because you're singing and moving your hand really quickly so it gets tired after the first 7 milliseconds of puppeting and after I had a water fight with Kari and Pope and besides that nothing exciting has happened except that my Grandma and Grandpa came up and my Grandma made me a quilt and it's flippin sweet and yesterday PA broke a pencil on my head and I watched a group of boys immitating strange bodily functions with their hands and water so I got weirded out so then I went to McDonald's with Jason, Mark, Pope, and Steph and some people were being really weird and then this whole clan of Open Door people came so we kinda chatted with them and we talked about SYATP (this Wednesday 7 AM, your flagpole, w00t) and I found out that Alex is a homecoming candidate and Jason gave me a ride home and I went to bed and went to school and now I am here writing this really annoying post and it's driving me crazy since I'm an Honors English student and I'm not using proper punctuation, ahh, and I've also been watching Elf alot and yesterday was picture day and I hope I didn't look like an ostrich like I did last year and I kicked Jason after I got my picture taken and a few people asked me who it was so i told them, kinda.

I had to stop, I needed proper punctuation, I WAS GOING CRAZY, and I'm sure you were too, and now you're silently thanking me, unless some of you decided to read it aloud.
If you vote for Alex, all of your wildest dreams will come true.
What chick should I vote for?

I think my stomach has shrunk. Which isn't exactly a bad thing, since that causes me to eat less so I can no longer pig out on junk food. But, I guess that can also be good because then I eat less so I don't take in as many calories so I don't get as fat. Not that I was fat in the first place. I really don't know. I have been noticing my pants a little looser lately. Now, the question is, is that good or bad? I always notice my stomach gurgling during class, yet when I get to the lunch room, I'm not in the mood to eat. If only we humans didn't have to care about our calorie intake.

Oh, and my bike was mysteriously stolen, and I was overjoyed (only because I didn't really like that bike anyway, it was too purpley), finally having an excuse to get a new one. But, today, the captain of the PD called my father and said they found it abandoned somewhere. Now I have to keep it. Bummer deal man.

pointless star wars related facts

I figured, since I have nothing to post about, I would post some random facts. There just happened to be alot relating to Star Wars, so I thought I would choose that as my "theme." They at least have something to do with it. Enjoy.

  • In Star Wars the aliens playing in the band are played by members of the ILM creature shop, including Phil Tippett, and the executive producer
  • In The Empire Strikes Back there is a potato hidden in the asteroid field
  • In Return of the Jedi there is a tennis shoe hidden among the rebel fleet
  • There are Star Wars ships hidden in Star Trek: First Contact, Space Balls, and Independence Day among others
  • In Raiders of the Lost Ark there is a wall carving of R2-D2 and C-3P0 behind the ark
  • There is a statuette of R2-D2 attached to the model of the mother-ship from Close Encounters of the Third Kind and on the Borg ship on Star Trek: The Next Generation

Oh, and if you're planning on having "the Happy Birthday song" in any of your movies in the days to come (probably a Reini), you'll have to pay Paul McCartney the royalty fees. He bought the rights for some reason. (or maybe it was talking about the song by the Beatles called "Birthday", but that's not the classic one that we all song on our birthday, is it?) Ha. That's really weird.

something random .... courtesy of google

FYI: The text on the final picture reads "to:china" and the chicken says (while in the hole) "It's worth it".

school = not-so bleh

My previous post is newly edited, if you haven't figured that out by the title of it. So you should re-check it out.

School has started, which means "sleeping occasionally" once again. I am pretty satisfied with my classes, the people in them aren't too annoying. Plus, Gemini is in 3 of them! Yes! So far, my favorite class is Spanish I with 'Senior Franklinnnn'..first hour. He's so awesome and he's a Christian too! Awesome! I'm going to invite him to see you at the pole. So, if you have teachers who are believers, you should invite them, too. My Spanish name is Agueda (pronounced a-gay-da). Now to second hour! Civics. Decenzo. 15 people. Bleh. Gemini! Woo! Third hour. Same class as last year, mostly. Not Terv. Mrs. Klawpauki (or something). She's nice. I'd rather have Terv. Oh well. It's not her fault. Gemini! Woo! Fourth hour. Algebra. Mr. Brown. No friends. Fifth hour. Erickson. Full of scary people who the computer just happened to place by my seat. I'm completely surrounded. Gemini! Woo! Sixth hour. Band/Gym. Dahl/Anderson. Meh.
I'm sure you didn't really need to know that, but I just needed a new post. I don't see anyone interesting in the halls. I sometimes get glances of Andrew and Pope, and I see Jason before and after 2nd hour, but why would a senior want to talk to a nerdy freshman? Just kidding, he doesn't do that. I mean he does. Talk to me that is. Uhh, nevermind. I'm just confusing you and myself. Sorry. You can go now. You know, make like a tree and get outta here.

improvement (newly edited)

Well, kids, the end of summer is approaching fast. Just a few short hours left, sadly. I thought I would post about how I've "improved" over the summer. I won't say how I've changed for the worse, because that just won't get us anywhere. Let's start, shall we? They are in no particular order.

  1. Appearence I've gotten my hair cut and I look older (according to some), and I am now, officially, a metal mouth. If I look angry, that's only because I can't bite down on my back teeth so I'll look angry, and it's hard to smile. Oh well. I'll live with it. The metal in my mouth is for my appearence to change even more drastically. w00t!
  2. Relationships I think I have improved my relationships with friends, and more importantly God. I am more loyal to doing my devotions and spending time with Him than I was a few months ago.
  3. Personal hygenie No comment.
  4. Better searching skills If ever a dog or friend gets lost, I can find them quicker. If ever you are in a situation like that, I recomend bikes, they go quicker than your legs alone.
  5. Better flirting skills? Blame Jac-Atac for this one, she's the one who told me to put it up. I have nothing to say about this one. Seriously. Since I don't agree with it.
  6. Better communication skills According to a very reliable source, if I make a mistake, I'm not too proud to admit it and I make a great effort to making things right. I, still, have to improve these skills even more.
  7. More pain resistent Whether it's getting smashed into by another car or another person, stabbed with a giant stick, or having my foot with the ingrown toenail (sorry, guys) being stepped on numerous times, I have learned to cope with pain better. Both physical and emotional! My emotional intelligence has improved, also! Yeah!
  8. Better blogging skills I've come up with better posts and I have also improved my vocabulary! Go Brooke!

I'm on a roll!

Have you noticed lately that all the car dealerships have been having "employee discounts" to all their customers? Wonder why? Recently, a somewhat reliable source told me that they are now creating cars that run on pure hydrogen, which is more flammable than unleaded gasoline (not that you needed to know). That is, in fact, why they are getting rid of all the cars...to make room for the hydrogen burning automobiles! w00t! With the technology we have these days (and have had for a while) you would think that the oh-so smart scientists would've come up with an alternative to gasoline long ago. Turkey gizzards, chicken fat, vegetable oil. WE WOULD SETTLE FOR ANYTHING BUT GASOLINE SINCE IT IS WELL OVER $5 A GALLON IN SOME PLACES! But with Visine at $1100 per gallon (courtesy of the colonel), some would rather settle for gasoline. Hopefully, by the time I drive, they'll have everything sorted out and I'll be driving cheaply.
